Rahel reflects on WHAT REMAINS of our last exhibit: SOBALD ICH MICH BEWEGE WIRD ES EIGENTLICH PERSÖNLICH
Liebe beide,
What remains?, Was bleibt?
Alles Liebe,
Rahel
Dear Dawn and Johannes,
What remains? Exactly one year ago Dawn, Johannes and I worked closely together and I was in Arlesheim a lot, at least once a week with the Bianchi there and back. The installation of the two works is a reminder of this time together and especially of the exhibition we showed at that time: Dawn's colored cards, titled “Yellow”, coordinated the art talks during the opening and thus the groups led by her, Johannes, Friedemann and myself. I hid them in the green of the garden, barely visible through the window, through the window that Judith's scissor staircase led in the room that Cosima's reading girl illuminated. Marlen and I picked flowers in that garden for the installation we made in the studio. Johannes’ work “Mindsight”, accompanied Guillaume's yoga class in the background and is stylistically very similar to the exhibition flyer and poster. I positioned it on the wall from which Birgit's stones grew, very close to the corridor covered by Reto's painting and very specially lit by the sun entering the room. The interior and exterior of the apartment, which was always thought through and especially emphasized by the dancing interpretations of Charlotte, Yeonji and Maija, can now again be guessed from the positioning of the two works. The title of the exhibition also remains central to many of my everyday and professional considerations – “As soon as I move, it actually becomes personal. It is something that remains.
Lots of love,
Rahel
